Great interview, once again, Robb and Livius. You boys are smashing it.
I can’t wait to read the hell out of this 500-page tome. Wow. Fantastic to finally put a voice to the Frenchy we all know and love.

Axel doesn’t sound nearly French enough to justify my frog-bashing.

I considered faking a French accent just for you, my friend. Make sure it sounds atrrrrocious. Maybe mumble things about baguettes and “zee americans” for a few minutes until the hosts cut me off and go, “Well, um, that’s it for the week. Thanks uh, for listening, I guess.”

Come now, mate! I even talked Dutch the other day on the show…

After listening to this, I strongly recommend heading over to dirtynoir.com and reading his new short story.

Loved your story, Axel. But I love everything you do.
What the fuck on Kiss Me Judas? Who was giving the book out, Baer? That’s a wild story. You’ve got that opening memorized, brother, wow.
Big spoon. Hilarious. Dude…I can’t help that there was stuff moving in the mirror.
I loved Serpent Box too.
Can’t wait to see that novel, Axel. 500 pages, JESUS.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the guy distributing the book was someone from the Cult. Dennis perhaps? I never could confirm, then again, never asked, but I’d love to find out. Someone talked about it in the original thread over The Cult. If you’re registered there, and they have archives, it should be the 2004 tour, reading in NYC, at NYU. My Google-fu has failed me.
And yeah, that opening, can’t forget it. Like Rubicon Beach and Dermaphoria, I can recite the first few pages from memory.
Thanks so much for the constant support, Richard. I remember you reading my stuff week after week in the Clevenger class. I look up to you and your work in ways you can’t imagine, my friend.

Just reached out to Dennis on Twitter. Let’s see if it was him. Would be mind-blowing if that was the case.

Always, Axel. Your work is so good, keeps me on my toes.
