Episode #47 – Zombie Extravaganza Spectacular (With Livius waving his arms in the air)
Turn off your phone. DVR your shows. Tuck the kids in for the night. Cancel that Skype chat with your long distance significant other. Put the ball gag back in its hiding place.
Done? Then strap in, bitches. It’s gonna be a crazy ride. We recently had one of those rare moments in life. How rare? It was such a rare occurrence that statistics didn’t exist for the phenomenon until after we stopped recording. Rare like getting attacked by a shark that is being struck by lightning. That fucking rare. We had the pleasure of getting Amanda Gowin and Chris Deal on at the same time to guest host a first for Booked: our Zombie Extravaganza Spectacular.
The belle of this freak-ball is Craig Wallwork’s story Revenge of the Zombie Pussy Eaters, which appears in the inevitable release Midnight Movie Creature Feature, published by May December Publications, and edited by TW Brown. Not only did the four of us chat at length about RotZPE, we also got our intrepid correspondent from the Netherlands, Mr. Mlaz Corbier to send in a clip about it and, I may be wrong, but I think Mlaz accused Wallwork of actually being a zombie Phil Collins? And! Craig Wallwork himself sent a lengthy missive to Amanda to be read on the show. It was almost as entertaining as the story itself.
But the fun didn’t end there. Here’s the other stuff you can look forward to listening to: talking about zombie books, zombie movies, horror books, horror movies, what we’d do in a zombie outbreak, hyenas with gigantic clits, Ted Nugent, Paranormal Activity (of course), The Blair Witch Project, Rob Zombie’s movies, House of Leaves, honey badgers, Zombie Strippers, how haunted a house needs to be before you leave, gay porn, and so much more stuff that I got bored writing so you’ll just have to listen to the goddamn episode and discover it for yourself.
Hit the player for the ep, or download it and sell it for the megabucks it’s worth. Just remember to give us a cut!

Check out Rusty Gatenby, whom Dreamworks quoted in their commercials saying that Transformers: Dark of the Night is:

Rusty’s review is a little bit different than Ebert & Roeper, who had this to say:
“…a visually ugly film with an incoherent plot, wooden characters and inane dialog. It provided me with one of the more unpleasant experiences I’ve had at the movies.” AND “…rarely has a movie had less of a soul and less interesting characters.”
Also, don’t forget to check out the classic viral video where Randall tells you why the Honey Badger is such a bad ass:
And here’s the Pistachio commercial too:

Next week we have another unique episode. The wholesome and uncontroversial Sean P. Ferguson, a Booked alum, joins us to talk about the newest Chuck Palahniuk release, Damned. You’re not going to want to miss this! Also in the next week or so, Livius and I do a split episode where we talk about two shorter books: Unaccustomed Mercy by DB Cox, and Cienfuegos by Chris Deal. Keep coming back, it works if you work it. And you’re worth it! (That was a shout out to my 12 steppers).

Oh, and a big high five to Bob Pastorella, whom we borrowed his epic line “It’s all horror” from.

I want to thank you guys for such a great pre-release hype for our anthology. I want to play this episode on a loop 24/7. While not all of our stuff is as humorous, we have an extensive library of anthologies as well as full-length work. Any of our writers would be fortunate to be included in any of your future episodes.
Thanks again

I prefer the plural “cliterati”. . . And yeah, that cervical cancer line was indeed my contribution, though, credit due, I saw it on a t-shirt somewhere. You guys are funny.

I have considered writing a sequel to Revenge of the Zombie Pussy Eaters. However, the title I wanted was already taken by the film, Angry and Moist: An Undead Chronicle, directed by James Raynor. Thanks for everything, guys.

FYI, the direct link works, but the episode isn’t showing up on the home page for me yet.

Thanks Gordon. I posted the episode but was too tired/lazy to update the website, so it is my morning project. This episode, while epic, was a bastard lot of work.

Listen back to Robb giving his recommendation for favorite scary book, Screampunk, or whatever the fuck it was called. Robb’s opinion isn’t really important here. What’s important is Mr. Deal’s near-moaning during the recommendation, it makes me feel dirty.
The wholesome and uncontroversial?
