Booked reviews Jonathan Maberry’s new zombie novel Dead of Night!

That’s right, we somehow haven’t had enough of zombies yet, so we’re dragging Halloween into November. It’s equal parts denial and laziness in this crazy cocktail. I don’t even know what I meant by that. Still reading? Good. Jonathan Maberry has dropped a hell of a piece of zombie fiction, and we’re very happy to have reviewed it for the show. Livius is a long time Maberry fan, having gotten into the Joe Ledger books that he’s mentions ad nauseum on the show. With good reason! This Maberry character knows his way around the written word.

And it wouldn’t be an episode of Booked without us giving you the skinny on what’s going on in this world of books. This episode, we give Barnes & Noble equal time and talk a bit about it’s recently-announced Nook Tablet. When I say recently announced, I mean it was announced like six minutes after we recorded our last episode. Those bitches.

That’s not it! Have you heard of QR Markham? Of course you have. He’s a wacky plagiarist whose latest book, called Assasin of Secrets (or something else lame like that), was outed as plagiarizing several books. Outed by whom? A very devoted group of James Bond book enthusiasts.

Tune in to listen to our soothing voices. I know I do. But i’m a pretty vain guy. And I look fantastic in a mirror.
