122 – Three Authors

Booked interviews three authors, as indicated in our fancy title: Three Authors. Sometimes we have so many authors to get on here, we don’t want to make you wait forever to hear them all. Other times, they all hit at once and we want to get them to you as quickly as possible. Whatever the reason, we like to throw a few interviews together into one epic episode sometimes, and that’s what we did this week!

Kicking things off is our chat with Fred Venturini. Fred is the author of the novel The Samaritan, and has published short stories in a bunch of places, including the Noir at the Bar 2 anthology. Fred was nice enough to come on and spend a half hour-ish talking about his book, and what’s on the horizon. It was excellent fun and we’re excited to share it with you!

Following Venturini, Janden Daniel Hale (aka Dan Donche) came on to talk about his Everwind series, his TV webseries Proxy IX (Proxy Influence), an exciting new project he has on the horizon with another jack of all trades Phil Jourdan, and his airport shenanigans with Stephen Baldwin.

Rounding off the night is Quintessence of Dust and Revenge of the Zombie Pussy Eaters author, Craig (pronounced craygg) Wallwork to talk about QoD, ROTZPE, Menacing Hedge, and his TWO novels that he has coming out in January: The Sound of Loneliness and To Die Upon A Kiss.

Next episode Booked. revisits SG Browne, where we read I Saw Zombies Eating Santa Claus, the follow-up novella to his book Breathers. We’ll also announce more authors we’ve confirmed for the Booked. Anthology, we’ll let you know who won a year of May December Publications books, and much more. Also, it’s almost the end of the year, which means the Year in Review episode is coming up. Got something you want to hear about on that episode? Let us know!

  1. listening now… :)

  2. Craig’s voice is different than I expected. It’s cool. I can totally imagine hearing his voice reading his stories.

  3. What you couldn’t see, Bob, was the glass of Old Fashion that was filled at least three times during the interview. Bourbon seduces my throat leaving it gravelly and denude. But thanks for the comments, man.

  4. Barb:

Great interviews. I found it fascinating to listen to whilst drinking my morning cup of coffee on a lazy Sunday morning. It was a pleasurable change of pace.

  5. And a Dog Soldiers shout out…Cool. And a Bob Pastorella shout out…Thanks.

  6. Cool. I assumed the world would never hear Livius Nedin’s dark fetish for small people and his abhorrent xenophobia toward a certain state in the US. :)

  7. Both of you should be ashamed for not seeing Dog Soldiers.

    • David! You’ve literally seen every movie ever. We’re never going to live up to that. That said, I watch Cabin in the Woods all the time. So maybe I should start watching a variety of movies instead? Yeah. I think I’m doing it wrong.
