125 – Gun Machine

Booked. brings on Paul Tremblay to assist in reviewing Gun Machine by Warren Ellis. That’s right. Paul had read Warren’s previous novel Crooked Little Vein, and was excited to check out this new release. We’ll see what he thought about it. As you may know, we reveiwed Paul’s book Swallowing a Donkey’s Eye recently, then had Paul on to talk a bit more about it. Good times were had, and Paul made the mistake of offering to come back on sometime. So we held him to it.

After talking Warren Ellis, Paul hangs out to help us with the rest of the episode. Skip Papersly brings us the latest Booked. News, which sends Robb into a Wikipediaesque tirade about the life and times of PG Wodehouse. Julian Grant is giving away free fuckloads! So we give you the scoop on that (see below for links), and Livius worries himself about whether we’re going to win the Podcast of the Year Award from This Is Horror.

Next week, as we mentioned, we will have a review of the Jake Hinkson book Hell on Church Street, which comes highly recommended by Booked. alum Matthew McBride. We’ll also be throwing you an interview with Cameron Pierce, author of Ass Goblins of Auschwitz and big wig at Lazy Fascist Press. We’re crazy, right? Two episodes in one week… nobody can live at that speed. Well, we are, bitches. So get ready!

  1. I’m pretty sure Paul Tremblay is in love with me now.

  2. You guys are really going to dig Jake Hinkson’s book. It’s fantastic. I think I read it in two sittings, and only because I had to sleep at some point.
