Booked. reviews Blackbirds by Chuck Wendig. As the runner-up for the This Is Horror 2012 Novel of the Year, we thought that there was no way we could pass the opportunity to check this out. Angry Robot published it, and we’ve mentioned them on the podcast as well. The way we look at it, we’re all a big, loving, award-winning family now.
Really, that’s pretty much all we did this episode. We talked Chuck Wendig, decided to read even more Chuck Wendig for next week, and we talked a bit more about the anthology. YES! We announced our final author to the lineup, and talked a bit about what you can expect the cover to look like. Oh, and we do some podcasting brotherly shout outs to our friends over at Pseudopod and Tales to Terrify.

Next week will be a first for Booked. It’s nice that after all this time, we can still have firsts. This time around, it’s the fact that we’re reviewing the sequel to the book we reviewed the previous week! So we’re going to sit down and drink in some Mockingbird. The sequel to Wendig’s Blackbirds. We may have some more anthology talk on the table, and who knows what else. Check back with us next week!
